The 35th International Fly Tying Symposium will be held November 21–22, 2026, at its new home, the Marriott Hotel Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
For many years, the Symposium was proudly hosted at the DoubleTree Hotel and Exhibit Hall in Somerset, New Jersey. Following the announcement that the DoubleTree will permanently close in August 2026, we began an extensive search for a new venue that could continue the tradition and quality our attendees have come to expect.
After carefully evaluating numerous locations, Lancaster quickly emerged as the clear choice. It offers everything that has made the Symposium successful over the past 35 years, including excellent facilities, convenient accommodations, and a welcoming destination for fly tiers from across the country.
Our confidence in Lancaster was reinforced in March 2026 when The Fly Fishing Show welcomed its largest and most successful crowd since first coming to the city. The response from exhibitors, tiers, and attendees confirmed that Lancaster is an outstanding location for our events.
The International Fly Tying Symposium is devoted exclusively to fly tying, offering attendees the opportunity to learn from many of the world’s finest fly tiers. The Fly Fishing Show celebrates every aspect of fly fishing, from casting and travel, to gear, conservation, and education. With nearly five months separating the two events, each offers a distinct experience.
While the Symposium is a smaller event than The Fly Fishing Show, both have loyal followings and dedicated attendees who return year after year. We are excited that Lancaster will now be home to two premier fly fishing events, giving anglers and fly tiers even more reasons to visit.
We look forward to welcoming you to the first International Fly Tying Symposium in Lancaster, November 21-22, 2026, and we hope you’ll join us again, March 13-14, 2027, for The Fly Fishing Show in Lancaster.
